On the north side of Taipei Municipal Zhongxiao Junior High school is the ‘Gui De’ Street, which is also known as the ‘tea’ street. In the early ‘Guang Xu’ year of the Qing Dynasty, western people came to open ‘Fan Zhuang’ (selling the ‘Wu Long’ tea) and locals started the ‘Pu Jia’ (selling the ‘Bao Zhong’ tea) on Gui De Street. In the heyday of the tea business, there were about 60 stores operating on ‘Gui De’ Street. If you want to get a better understanding of Taiwanese tea production history, Dadaocheng will be the best candidate.
