2.6.5Dadaocheng Wharf Riverside Park

The Dadaocheng Wharf riverside park is utilizing the free space along the Dan Shui River to provide a place for people to exercise while enjoying the scenery. In the park, you can not only find basketball courts, but also tennis, badminton, croquet, and a large sports ground. Furthermore, if you enjoy hiking or promenading, the wandering trail along the river is definitely the best way to go. From time to time, on special holidays, there will be ‘Sky Lantern Festival’, ‘Firework Festival’, and even ‘Barbeque Feast’ events in the park. The Dadaocheng Wharf Riverside Park is certainly one of the best places to hang out with friends and family during the weekends.

 

Zhao Yang Park

Zhao Yang Park is the first tea theme park in Datong District. It broke the stereotype of only Wen Shan District and Nan Gang District are producing tea. The park has drawn the attention and brought the business to the Datong District’s tea trading area, which is mainly centered on the Ganzhou Street.

Since Dadaocheng is the main tea trading center of the Northern Taiwan, the park was elaborately designed and planted with tea trees that are compatible with the urban environment, such as, Chin Shin Dah Pan, Assam, Jinxuan, Cuiyu, Orchid, Cape Jasmine, Sweet Olive, and Jasmine. There are plenty of explanation boards about the history of Dadaocheng’s Tea and Taiwanese Tea along the trail. Yu Quan Park

Yu Quan Park is not only the playground for children but also a good place for adults to take a walk. Despite the limited area of the park, there are still numbers of facilities, including, multi-function thermostatic swimming pool, water slides, and steam sauna chamber. The plentiful facilities that Yu Quan Park provided are in fact equivalent to a private fitness center except it is cheaper. It is definitely worth a visit.

 

The Blue Highway

In the 86th year of the Republic Era, the Taipei City mayor, Shui Bian Chen, proposed to construct the Blue Highway to provide more options for the citizens’ weekend leisure activities. Finally, in the 93th year of the Republic Era, the construction of the Blue Highway was completed. The ship no longer ferry goods and commuters nowadays, but rather carry passengers attracted by the Taipei City’s riverside charm.
