Taipei Xia-Hai City God Temple

Locating at Dadaocheng’s Dihua Street’s section 1, Taipei Xia-Hai City Gad Temple is a Grade III historic site. The temple only has two structures, the main hall and the worshipping kiosk. Despite the limited space, the Temple still has the incense heyday. Including Cheng Huang, Wen Pan Guan (Civil Judger), Wu Pan Guan (Military Judger), and Cheng Huang’s wife, there are about total of 600 gods being worshipped, which makes this temple the highest density of idols in Taiwan. You can also worship the matchmaker god for a good marriage, which many people said it is very efficacious.
The delicately craved Taipei Xia-Hai City God Temple moved from Quanzhou, Fujian Province to Taiwan in the 9th year of Xian Feng of the Qing Dynasty. The quaint plaque couplet, “xi acai linmen ba la pei tian he zhuo, hai cheng qi yi liu long suidi feng qian”, and “shan bao e bao su bao chi bao zhong xu you bao, tian zhi di zhizi zhi wo zhi hewei wuzhi” have always been hanged on the entrance to remind the pilgrim or any visitors to believe that nothing is impossible as long as you believe in it.
Taipei Ma-Zu Temple

The Taiepi Cih-Shan Temple, which is located at Taipei Datong District’s Bao’ an Street, is one of the three famous temples in Dadocheng. Since the main patron saint is “Ma-Zu”, Cih-Shan Temple is also known as Taipei Ma-Zu Temple.
Starting from Bao’ an Street, you will be able to see the resplendent and magnificent Chi-Shan Temple’s archway. Constructing in 1910 A.D., this historical temple is the largest temple around Dadaocheng. The temple is located at a small alley with plenty of food vendors selling food and snack around, which has made this area a small activity area.
